The Cubs' top prospect put together his second straight two-homer game Monday -- with both longb alls coming against a southpaw -- though that wasn't quite enough as the Triple-A Iowa Cubs fell to the Omaha Storm Chasers, 9-7.

The game represents Rizzo's sixth multi-homer performance of the season. In his last two contests, the 22-year-old first baseman has gone 6-for-9 with 19 total bases and eight RBIs.

Rizzo got to work early, launching a 2-2 pitch from lefty starter Will Smith for a leadoff homer in the second inning. In the fifth, he did it again, clubbing a 1-0 offering over the right-field wall to plate three more against Smith.

The Florida native added a double in the seventh and was hit by a pitch in the ninth to end his day.

After putting up some of the best numbers in the Pacific Coast League with Tucson last year -- he hit .331 with 26 homers and 101 RBIs in 93 games -- Rizzo has done even more damage for Iowa. He is batting .370 with 22 long balls and 57 RBIs in 59 games.

Rizzo's performance against left-handers has been a noticeable part of his improvement. He recorded just two homers off southpaws last year, but has already accumulated seven this season. Overall, he has increased his OPS against lefties from .802 in 2011 to 1.154 this season.

Rehabbing catcher Salvador Perez led the Storm Chasers' offense by going 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. No. 2 Royals prospect Wil Myers put Omaha on top with a two-run homer in the ninth. In 25 games at Triple-A, the 22-year-old outfielder is batting .340 with nine long balls.
